Join our growing team at The Messy Cookie! We're a locally-owned, woman-owned and LGBTQIA-owned cookie bakery looking for a Retail Cookie Assistant & Baker to help create a welcoming customer experience while also baking delicious treats behind the scenes.

This is a part-time position with set hours on Fridays from 8 AM to 3 PM (and the possibility of Saturdays in the future). Additionally, you’ll be called in a few days a month (sometimes a few days a week if your schedule allows it) to bake cookies in preparation for retail shop days.

What You’ll Do:

Retail Responsibilities (Fridays):

• Help set up our shop before we open our doors by making coffee, the coffee station, and baking cookies.
• Greet and engage customers with a friendly attitude and provide excellent service.
• Operate the register, handle transactions, and ensure the counter is clean and inviting.
• Assist customers with cookie orders, packaging, and product questions.

Baking Responsibilities (Occasional & Fridays):

• Bake cookies from scratch or frozen dough as needed for retail.
• Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace.

Qualifications:

• Customer service experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic baking experience or willingness to learn; if you don't have experience baking, please don't let that deter you from applying! (We all start somewhere!)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate for prepping cookies throughout the week when needed. This can be pre-determined based on your availability through the week to work with your schedule.
